6 Dec 20

Old Quarry Lane, Wakeham Meadow, Wakeham Railway Cuttings, Penns Wood, St Andrew's Church Grounds, Penn's Weare, Penn's Copse, Rufus Castle, Bumpers Lane, Broadcroft Quarry Lane, Broadcroft Butterfly Reserve, Higher Horse Paddock and Lower Horse Paddock.

A much brighter day and certainly less wind. A few highlights with a Fieldfare over Bumpers Lane, the pair of Stonechats still in the Lower Horse Paddock, where there were also 9 Meadow Pipits, 2 Skylarks, a 1st Winter Pied Wagtail and a Song Thrush.

I gave the cove a miss as it was busy with anglers and visitors, but I did manage to see 2 Rock Pipits on the beach.

Here are a few images and videos from today:

The days are shorter and the shadows longer. This is the Lower Horse paddock where.......

........the pair of Stonechats remain.

Here is the male

And the female.

Also in the paddock were 9 Meadow Pipits.

Plus this 1st Winter Pied Wagtail.

A very busy Wagtail, not the easiest bird to keep up with.

Its that time of year again where the Robins always seem to be posing.

Not everyone's favourite bird, but Magpies do look quite striking.

And one of the resident Grey Squirrels along the railway cuttings.
