A change of scenery today and it was off to the marina to check on our boat "Star". She started first time, which is always a good thing.
While Ted and I were there, I came across 3 Turnstone feeding on discarded crabs left on one of the pontoons, whilst swimming, fishing and preening on the water were 2 Cormorants and a Shag.
On the breakwater, there more Cormorants and Shags, plus both Herring Gulls and Great Black-backed Gulls. And that was it.
Here are a few images and videos from today:
Three Turnstone on one of the pontoons, feeding on the discarded Edible Crabs and Spider Crabs.
This one has a discarded Spider Crab at its feet.
This Turnstone looks as if its just having a look to see where to go next.
Below are few videos of the Turnstone feeding (All videos muted, as there were 2 men next to me having a good yarn)
From left to right: A headless Cormorant, a Cormorant, centre a Shag, next another Cormorant and far right a headless immature Cormorant.
Well in the near centre is an adult Great Black-backed Gull and to the left of it an adult Herring Gull. Behind both birds is the Replenishment Vessel "RFA Tidespring" and to the far right, two of the six statues installed on the tops of the Mulberry Harbour Phoenix Units, representing two British Sailors, two American GIs and two Dock workers. More on the Mulberry Harbour Phoenix Units Here and RFA Tidespring Here.
Oh dear, Ted really isn't a sea dog.
And if it wasn't for his lead I think he would have been off.
