A beautiful sunny day and great to get out of the house for a walk down to the cove.
As yesterday my route took me down through Penn's wood where there were birds galore. There were up to 20 Goldfinches, several Chaffinches, 4 Blackbirds, 2 Redwings, a Song Thrush, 4 Wrens, at least 10 Long-tailed Tits in a flock including 4 Great Tits, 2 Blue Tits, 2 Goldcrests and a Firecrest. I don't think I've missed any out!
After several minutes of watching and listening to an amazing chorus from all of these birds it was off down to the cove to see if the Black Redstart was still about. He was and so were 13 Rock Pipits and the "resident" 10 Wrens, 2 Pied Wagtails, 1 Grey Wagtail and 2 Robins.
As the sun began to set so the insects made their way up the sunny slopes and with them the Black Redstart. The shadows began to fall on the cliff face and the Black Redstart disappeared onto the grass bank on top of the cliff.
Here are a few images from this evening:

The Black Redstart having a bit of a scratch before heading.....
.....up the slope.....
.....and to the top of the sunbathed cliff. This now day 8 for this overwintering bird.
A short video of the Black Redstart before he disappeared over the top of the cliff.
On the beach there were 13 Rock Pipits.
