Penns Wood, St Andrew's Church Grounds and Church Ope Cove

For the time being at least, my first location on my walk will be Penns Wood, where if it we are lucky enough, the Yellow-browed Warbler (seen here over the past 2 days) will be a long-stayer. And so far so good as I came across it this afternoon, at the bottom of Penns Wood feeding high up in the tree canopies.

On two occasions I watched it fall like fluttering leaf from about 20 feet and land in the Japonicas below. Certainly not something I have seen before and hopefully if it is a long-stayer I'll be able catch it doing it again on video.

Also in the wood was a single Goldcrest and on the beach were 12 Rock Pipits.

Out to sea around the Shambles Sandbank were hundreds of gulls and Gannets feeding

Here are a few images and videos from this afternoon:

Another murky day, but the Yellow-browed Warbler doesn't seem to be bothered about the weather and was......

........very busy flitting through the trees searching for insects.

Very poor light, but I at least managed to keep up with Yellow-browed Warbler. Well for a few seconds at least.

The beach at Church Ope Cove where there were 12 Rock Pipits today.

The Rock Pipits were very wary of the incoming waves.

Overhead at the cove, one of the resident Ravens is helped along its way.

There were many Gannets out to sea. Here I am trying to follow one of them.

Oh dear what a frown. Only Ted knows why

Possibly because I spend a lot of time standing around watching the wildlife.
