A very foggy morning, which did eventually lift around midday to leave a lovely sunny day, though the odd bank of cloud did pass through.
A couple of good highlights today with singles of Black Redstarts seen. The first was at the top of the Lower Horse Paddock, but did a Houdini act and disappeared down the paddock. Unfortunately I was on the wrong side of the barbed-wire fence to see where it went. Also here were 20+ Meadow Pipits., 2 Starlings and a Pied Wagtail. No sign of the Stonechats today!!
The second Black Redstart was a bit more amenable and was in the northeast corner of the cove, where there were also 2 Rock Pipits, 2 Wrens and a Herring Gull on the beach.
Here are a few images and videos from today:
One of the 2 Starlings in the Lower Horse paddock this afternoon.
And there were a few more Meadow Pipit in the paddock as well, with 20+ feeding or sitting on the fences.
And here is Molly being attended to by a Magpie.
Down Broadcroft Quarry Lane a Herring Gull stands on top of one of the waste skips
As I made my way down to Rufus Castle, another bank of fog passes behind it.
And Church Ope Cove bathed in sunshine, well at least the northeast corner where this very busy.......
.............Black Redstart was feeding. Here are a few more images and videos of it on south facing cliff.
Meanwhile at sea level another Herring Gull looks quite menacing
It even took off from its rock to........
..........get closer to me and Ted. Really bizarre, perhaps he though we had food!!
At the top of Penns Wood a Robin peers out from inside a Shrub.
Whilst higher in the Sycamore a male Chaffinch
And of course Ted, posing as usual.
.............he came running down the track when I called him.
