Today we had a Christmas Day walk around the Bill before heading home to cook the Turkey. The weather couldn't have been any more different, than the gale force winds we had on Wednesday. Needless to say in the sunny and calm conditions most of the Gannets, auks, Kittiwakes etc. were further out to sea.
Main highlight was coming across 6 Purple Sandpipers by the Pulpit.
Here are a few images and videos from today:
The Pulpit and looking east..........
...........the Obelisk.
Between the Pulpit and Obelisk were these 6 Purple Sandpipers.
Siesta time.
Nice pose for the camera. Just a shame I was looking into the sun.
Well if you're not looking for food or having a siesta, a good preen is the next task.
A Purple Sandpiper and a Rock Pipit for company
These two are undecided as to whether they are going to join the others. Well one of them did in the end.
Later the lone Purple Sandpiper above joined the other five.

The Red Crane
Below the crane a lone Oystercatcher
By the Lobster Pot Restaurant a Rock Pipit is wondering where everyone is.
Portland Bird Observatory
And of course Ted, enjoying the sun like the rest of us.
