Portland Museum, Rufus Castle and Church Ope Cove

A mud free walk this afternoon, before Storm Bella arrived later. Perhaps Ted and I should have walked through Penns wood, as apart from 2 Gannets out to sea, the only other birds seen and heard were Herring Gull, Great Black-backed Gull, Wood Pigeon, Dunnock and a Robin.

On the beach an empty Whelk eggs case was washed up with the seaweed.

Here are a few images and a Ted Video from today:

The path down to Rufus Castle from Portland Museum. A few weeks ago I ran into a DPD delivery driver, trying to deliver a parcel to the castle. I told him "you'll' be lucky", he replied "Why's that". I said "Because they moved out over 200 years ago". The look on his face was a picture. 😂😂

A very peaceful looking Church Ope Cove. Out of shot on the beach were however over 20 visitors.

An empty Whelk eggs case.

Yesterday Dawn and Kim built this Cairn on the beach.

This is what it looked like after High Tide had come and gone. A few pieces lost on the top, though I can't help feeling there has been some sort of human intervention, as some of the rocks appear to have been moved around.

A close up view of the rocky outcrop called "The Steamer" on Penn's Weare.

With a mud free walk, Ted was happy to be jacket free.

He's certainly got a spring in his step and of course Ted wouldn't be Ted if..............

..........he didn't have a Bichon Buzz.
