A real mixture of sunshine and showers today, with the biggest shower hitting Portland, just as Ted and I got back from our walk. It was a very close call.
Yet again very little about, which is a bit odd, especially as the past 3 winters have seen a Firecrest or two, plus an overwintering Black Redstart around the cove. Granted both species were here early Autumn, but have since moved on. Maybe if we get a prolonged spell of cold weather, it might bring something in. We can only hope.
As there was nothing much about on the land, I did a bit of sea watch, which at least provided me with a bit of interest, with Guillemots, Razorbills and Gannets all moving up and down the coastline. Just a shame they were way way out to sea.
Here are a few images and videos from today:
This just about summed up today, sunshine and showers.
At least there was plenty to see out to sea. These Gannets fly at a fair pace, so I have slowed this one down a bit. Its only when you play it back, you realise its not alone, with a lot of smaller birds out there as well.
