More rain today and I just managed to get home before the heavy stuff came down. Main highlights this morning were 2 Firecrests at the back of the cove and a Great Spotted Woodpecker in Penns Wood.
Elsewhere 10 Rock Pipits flew south over Church Ope Cove without stopping, whilst 50 metres or so off the shoreline a Gannet was fishing and doing quite well as far as I could tell.
I also came across a German Wasp in the entrance to its nest. Whether it was alive or not I couldn't say!!
Now that I have seen the "mining" exploits of the Golden Pygmy moth caterpillar, I'm now noticing more of their handy work on the local brambles. More on this moth Here
