Portland Museum, Rufus Castle and Church Ope Cove

Another mud-free walk down to the cove, via the 151 steps from Rufus Castle. And it was certainly a better day bird-wise in the wake of Storm Bella, with quite a few Gannets, Razorbills and Guillemots out to sea.

At the cove 2 Pied Wagtails and a Grey Wagtail took off from the beach and headed up and over Penns Wood. Whilst on the cliff under the castle a Kestrel was looking out for its next meal.

Here are a few images and a video from this afternoon.

Church Ope Cove from the top step by Rufus Castle.

On the way down the 151 steps a Kestrel flew up onto one of the ledges just below the castle

Out to sea this Gannet and many others were making their way down the coastline towards Portland Bill.

And of course Ted and his Christmas bow-tie.

This is part of a fossilised tree, which is on show outside the Portland Museum. More on the Museum Here.
