One of the 3 Straw-barred Pearls seen in the garden and cottage today.
Old Quarry Lane, Wakeham Meadow, Perryfield Quarry Butterfly Reserve, Penns Wood, St Andrew's Church Grounds, Church Ope Cove, Penn's Weare, Penn's Copse, Rufus Castle, The Cuttings Quarry, Bumpers Lane and Lower Horse Paddock.
A beautiful warm sunny day, but no real highlights. Just 3 Swallows, 2 Blackcaps and a Siskin the only migrants noted.
Not so many butterflies either, though a Wall Brown was good to see at the Perryfields butterfly reserve.
Here are a few images from this afternoon
One of the many Wall Lizards out in the sun today.
And another lizard, albeit a legless one, a Slow-worm
Not an easy shot especially as I was a good 20 metres away. However left of centre is one of the many Ivy Bees around their nest site just above the Cuttings Quarry. This is a nest site which has been used every year since I moved here and probably many years before I arrived on the island.
A Common Carder Bee
A male Long Hoverfly
And Ted waiting for me to catch up.
