Lower Horse Paddock, Higher Horse Paddock, Broadcroft Quarry Butterfly Reserve (West and East) and Broadcroft Quarry Lane

Same walk as yesterday, still sunny but a bit of a breeze today.

Main highlight was watching 3 Peregrine Falcons, with 2 dive bombing a Buzzard as it passed over the lane.

In fact it was a good day for raptors with another 2 Buzzards seen, a Kestrel hovering over the reserve and a Sparrowhawk which narrowly missed a Starling which was sat with 20 others on the brambles in the lower horse paddock.

Here are a few images from this morning:

One of the 3 Peregrines over Wakeham this morning.

Yesterday I had an adult Starling in Winter colours. This morning.....................

.................. I came across these juvenile Starling going through their moult as well.

A juvenile Linnet. Looks like someone has put a ring on its leg.

A very pretty butterfly. A male Common Blue.

Quite a few Small Heaths about as well.

And as I was attempting to photograph the Ivy Bees, I came across this interesting fly. It is a Grass Fly (Thaumatomyia notata)
