Another day spent working in the back garden. And a much cooler and cloudier day. No sign of the Humming-bird Hawk-moth, proof indeed that it only appears when the sun is out. Well in my back garden that is.
No real highlights other than a few Swallows heading down the island.

Yesterday there was just the one 22-spot Ladybird seen and today...........
.........not only were there two, but this individual was on a different Marrow leaf. Obviously they have migrated from the "parent" plant to others.
Well this a bit confusing. This Common Green Shieldbug above is a 3rd instar nymph, however.....
.....this smaller individual is a 4th instar nymph of the same species, and should be larger than the 3rd instar. Odd!!
Its that time of year when the spiders start appearing in greater numbers. This one and several others seen in the garden is a Garden Spider

Hoverflies Recorded: Common Dronefly (Eristalis tenax), Tapered Dronefly (Eristalis pertinax) and hoverfly sp.
Crickets and Grasshoppers Recorded: Common Field Grasshopper (Chorthippus brunneus)
Bugs and Beetles Recorded: 22-Spot Ladybird (Psyllobora 22-punctata) and 2 Common Green Shieldbug (Palomena prasina)
