Penns Wood, St Andrew's Church, Church Ope Cove, Penn's Weare, Penn's Copse, Rufus Castle and Portland Museum

It was a day of dodging the showers, which meant my walk didn't happen until fairly late in the afternoon. Though it kept dry, the wind was pretty strong and it felt pretty raw out there.

A few of highlights with a Blackcap singing in Penns Wood, a pair of Rock Pipits establishing their territory at the cove and several small flocks of Meadow Pipits heading up the island.

Out to sea were several Herring Gulls and at least 3 Common Gulls.

The weather conditions were that dire, that I didn't come across any bees, butterflies, hoverflies or any other insect for that matter.

Here are a few images from today:

Rufus Castle, where it seems........

..........a pair of Herring Gulls have a nest.

Here they are having a good look around.

And here is "Speedy Gonzales"

And Ted even put in a Buzz. Albeit a short one.
