Wakeham

Another day of garden birdwatching, with a few migrants noted, albeit the same species, with a dozen or so Meadow Pipits heading up the island.

In the garden and the neighbours there were 3 male Great Tits having a right melee over a female. I can only surmise that it was a pair and the other 2 other males were trying to muscle in.

Here are a few images and a video from today:

The sound of Spring. This male Blackbird......................

....................has been singing away in the Sycamore for the past 3 days. I haven't seen the female for a few days either. Possibly she's sat on her nest now..

A pair of Dunnocks have been regular visitors to the garden. And just look at those orange legs.

And of course Ted, who along with Benji, now have the full run of the garden. It's been awhile but I am pretty sure I have fenced all the garden off, so that Houdini here can't escape any more. Time will tell!!!!

Birds Recorded from the back garden: Herring Gull, Wood Pigeon, 12+ Meadow Pipit, 2 Pied Wagtail, 2 Dunnock, 1 Robin, 1 Blackbird, Great Tit, Blue Tit, Magpie, Carrion Crow, 1 Raven, House Sparrow, 1 Chaffinch and 2 Goldfinch

Bees Recorded: Honey Bee (Apis mellifera) and 2 White-tailed Bumblebee (Bombus lucorum)

Hoverflies Recorded: 1 Marmalade Hoverfly (Episyrphus balteatus) and a Common Dronefly (Eristalis tenax)

NOTE
And  an update on yesterday's sonic boom, it was caused by a fireball meteor coming into the earth's atmosphere at around 767 mph. More on this meteor Here.
