Pennsylvania Castle Woods, St Andrew's Church, Church Ope Cove, Penn's Weare, Penn's Copse, Rufus Castle and Portland Museum

Yet another very sunny but chilly one for our walk today, but very enjoyable, with my first two Firecrests of the year at the back of Church Ope Cove.

Also at the cove were 3 Pied Wagtails and the overwintering female Black Redstart.

In Penns Wood the two Goldcrests are still in residence and in several places there were a few Buff-tailed Bumblebees..

A Blackbird keeping a watch on me and Ted.

And also in Penns Wood was this Goldcrest, with a second bird close by.

So difficult to photograph were these........

........ two Firecrests at the back of the cove.

At least this video was slightly better.

Wakeham

On the flowering Sweet Box Sarcococca (Sarcococca confusa) in the back garden, were at least five Honey Bees (Apis mellifera). Also noted were 3 Meadow Pipit overhead.

This is the very sweet smelling Sweet Box Sarcococca (Sarcococca confusa) and very.....

.......popular with the local Honey Bees. At one time there were five collecting pollen.

Here's another Honey Bee warming itself up in the sun. The temperature today didn't rise above 5.2°C
