Pennsylvania Castle Woods, St Andrew's Church, Church Ope Cove, Penn's Weare, Penn's Copse, Rufus Castle, The Cuttings and Bumpers Lane

It was a trip down to the cove this afternoon. However I forgot it was half-term and unsurprisingly there were no birds on the beach as it was pretty busy with visitors swimming and rock climbing.

But it was still an interesting walk, with a Peregrine Falcon putting up all the Wood Pigeons in Penns Wood as it flew close to the tree tops, three Buzzards circling over Penns Weare, and an unusual sighting of a Guillemot fishing just off the beach.

And I was pretty pleased to have a Robin feeding out of my hand at the cove.

I was wondering why the Herring Gulls were congregating on the water. And there's the reason at the top of the photo........

...........a Guillemot fishing just off the cove. It's definitely..............

...............the first one I have seen here at the cove.

It's always a treat to have a Robin........

.............feeding out of your hand.
