Penns Wood, St Andrew's Church and Church Ope Cove

Another very cold and sunny day, with overnight temperatures dropping to 3.2°C in the back garden. In a few sheltered spots, like in the grounds of St Andrew's Church, there was evidence of a frost plus ice.

The only highlight today was a juvenile Wall Lizard in the grounds of St Andrew's Church, which when the sun was out, was probably one of the warmest locations on the island, despite the overnight frost and ice here.

I'm not sure why, but there was no sign of the Firecrest, Goldcrest and Chiffchaff in Pennsylvania Castle Woods, and the beach is still void of Rock Pipits, though today, the Grey Wagtail which was here yesterday has been replaced by two Pied Wagtails.

There were a few more bees and hoverflies on the wing today, especially around the flowering Hebes.
