News came in this morning that a Woodchat Shrike was on the "Slopes" at The Bill. As I had home delivery in the morning, I had to wait until the afternoon before I headed off to find it.
Fortunately it was still about and had taken up a new "residence" in a horse paddock in the Top Fields. It didn't take me long to find it, as the local Linnets weren't to happy by its presence and were following it from one Bramble bush to another.
Here are a few images and videos from today:
.............it was off after its next meal. In the background you can hear the local Linnets, who were not happy with a shrike in their patch.

Here are a few images and videos from today:
My first ever Woodchat Shrike in the UK.
Not a particularly easy bird to photograph as it kept.......
............flying off, either to catch prey...........
................... or just a different Bramble to sit on.
Here it is again on another Bramble and a few seconds later.......
In the same field as the shrike was Raven, looking quite menacing.
This Pheasant was right at home in our back garden today. Overhead you can just about make out 2 Swifts calling.
Here it is up on our shed roof............
........and then on the neighbours.
A different Slow-worm today.
And a Palmate Newt in the garden pond.
