There are so many things to catch up on in the garden, that my walks have dried up at the moment. So it did mean I missed out on the Red-rumped Swallow, a Hoopoe, Ring Ouzels, Pied Flycatchers and an escaped Parrot today, but there'll be more I'm sure, though possibly not the latter.
So what was happening at home, well another Chiffchaff passed through the garden and there were many more Bronze Furrow Bees out today.
Other highlights were a Humming-bird Hawkmoth which whizzed through the garden and a Small White which took its time as it fluttered into the neighbours garden.
Ideally you should leave garden ponds well alone at this time of the year, but it was really a choked up and needed a top up as well. So I carefully removed some of the weed and gently helped two juvenile Palmate Newts back into the water. And just like everyone should do when removing pond weed, I carefully placed it next to the waters edge, to allow other beasties I missed, to return to the water. Also in the pond were a couple of Frogs.
Here are a few images and videos from today:
A Chiffchaff in my neighbours garden.
One of at least 2 Frogs in the pond.
Not quite sure what the bug is on its eye!!
A Bronze Furrow Bee homes in on a Yellow-legged Mining-bee sat on the leaf.
I hope I've got this right as being a Chocolate Mining Bee (Andrena scotica)
