I had another go with the Trail camera last night and also through the morning, and it is proving to be a real eye opener with the amount of birds it is recording in the garden.
Apart from the tabby cat again last night, all the interest started around 7:30am with a good list of birds videoed. They were 1 Dunnock, 1 Robin, 1 Blackbird, 1 Common Whitethroat, 1 Chiffchaff/Willow Warbler, 1 Great Tit and 2 Magpies. The one I missed was a Blackcap more on this bird below.
A nice surprise this morning was a Common Whitethroat passing through the garden and had I not walked out later to bring the camera in, I reckon I would have videoed a male Blackcap as well. Unfortunately as walked around to the other side of the pond, I spooked it as it was perched on our Fig Tree. I did think about leaving the camera running, but made the mistake of assuming it had already been feeding on the grain I had left on the stepping stone. It hadn't!! Also in the video was one of the resident Dunnocks and a female Great Tit. The Common Whitethroat appears in the back ground, near the end of the video, as it moves through the Buddleia towards the pond.
This Robin posed well for the camera.
The female Great Tit was back again and while she was looking for food, a Willow Warbler or possibly a Chiffchaff was making its way through the garden, almost following the route of the Common Whitethroat.
