Penns Wood, St Andrew's Church, Church Ope Cove, Church Ope Cove Wood, Penn's Weare, Penn's Copse, Rufus Castle and Portland Museum

It was a bit of a grey day today, but at least it was a lot quieter on my walk. Plus the only people I saw were locals on their exercise walk.

No real highlights, but just one oddity when a Cormorant came off the sea, flew west over the cove and disappeared over Penns Wood. I don't think I've come across a Cormorant taking a shortcut over the island before.

Out to sea were hundreds of Razorbills and Guillemots making their way up and down the coastline, and there were quite a few Herring Gulls and Great Black-backed Gulls over the cove and Penn's Weare.

Here are a few images and videos from today:

The clouds are gathering and the forecast is for rain late afternoon.

Great Black-backed Gulls on Penn's  Weare

And the Cormorant that flew over the island.

This Raven was not a welcome visitor to the cove and the Herring Gulls eventually moved it on.

This male Great Tit at the back of the cove was very vocal.

And finally the Primrose in the grounds of St Andrew's Church has opened.

Ted making his way up the steep path on the south facing cliff at the cove.

And here is making a point that he beat me to the top. Show off.
