Another sunny day and of course being the weekend, the Church Ope Car Park was full with day trippers. I took a chance on walking down through Penns Wood to the cove and amazingly didn't meet a soul. Sadly everyone was on the beach, with a few chilling out in their beach huts. What Lockdown!!
Anyway, what did I see on my exercise walk, not a lot really. Despite the sun, there was very little about, though it was interesting to come across a couple of Spotted Meliscaeva (Meliscaeva auricollis) hoverflies.
The Lower Horse paddock seems to be the most productive of locations, especially when the weather is sunny and calm. When it's windy, the sea comes into its own. So in the horse paddock there were 5 Meadow Pipit, 2 Pied Wagtail, Dunnock, Robin, Blackbird, Wren, Magpie, Carrion Crow, Jackdaw, 5 Starling and House Sparrow.
