Penns Wood, St Andrew's Church, Church Ope Cove, Penn's Weare, Penn's Copse, Rufus Castle and Portland Museum

It was a lovely sunny afternoon, and pretty mild as well. Unfortunately the only real bird highlights were off Portland's east coast, where there many small flocks of Razorbill and Guillemots heading up the coast. Along with them were Herring Gulls, Great Black-backed Gulls and a few Gannets.

At the cove there were a few Wrens on the beach plus this Rock Pipit and another one close by.

Once the morning cloud drifted away, it was a very pleasant day.

And even Ted appreciated the dry weather.

Birds Recorded: Gannet, Cormorant, Herring Gull, Great Black-backed Gull, Razorbill, Guillemot, Wood Pigeon, 2 Rock Pipit, Dunnock, Robin, Blackbird, Long-tailed Tit, Great Tit, Blue Tit, Wren, Magpie, Carrion Crow, Jackdaw, Chaffinch and Goldfinch

Bees Recorded: White-tailed Bumblebee (Bombus lucorum)

Flies, Craneflies, Gnats and Midges Recorded: Kelp Fly (Coelopa frigida)

This is the Dutch Container Ship "Helga" on its way from Southampton to Portland Harbour. More on this vessel Here.

This is the General Cargo ship "Wilson Durness" flying the flag of Antigua Barbuda. It is on its way from Terneuzen (Holland) to Southampton. Though if you look at its past track, it was coming down through the Irish Sea and then west to Southampton!! More on this vessel Here.

This is the passenger Ship "Queen Victoria" flying the flag of Bermuda. It is on its way out of Weymouth Bay and heading to Southampton. More on this vessel Here.
