A beautiful sunny day, which brought out the first Honey Bee of the year, plus a few blow-flies. No real birding highlights, with just 15 Rock Pipits and 4 Pied Wagtails on the beach, whilst out to sea just two Cormorants heading down the coast.

My first Honeybee of the year and its still January.
In Penns Wood this is most likely a Common Bluebottle (Calliphora vomitoria), unlike Calliphora vicina which is more associated with humans.
