Church Ope Cove

It was back to the cove again today via Rufus Castle and the 151 steps down to the beach and the 300+ back up.

Main highlights today were very much like yesterday, though there were an additional 5 Rock Pipits today with 16 counted. The female Black Redstart is still in residence along with a Pied Wagtail and a Grey Wagtail. As I arrived at the north-east corner of the cove an Oystercatcher took off from the rocks there and flew south.

There was a bit more action out to sea with Cormorants, Shags and a Fulmar passing through, whilst 50 metres or so off the beach, there was a gathering of gulls which included 8 Common Gulls, 3 Black-headed Gulls, 7 Herring Gulls and 2 Great Black-backed Gulls.
