Penns Wood, St Andrew's Church, Church Ope Cove, Church Ope Cove Wood, Penn's Weare, Penn's Copse, Rufus Castle and the Museum

The forecast was for showers this afternoon, but thankfully they missed us. No real highlights with just a lone Grey Wagtail and an Oystercatcher at the cove.

Despite the sun being out, I couldn't find a single bee on any Hebes along my walk.

Birds Recorded:
Cormorant
1 Oystercatcher
Herring Gull
Wood Pigeon
1 Grey Wagtail
Dunnock
Robin
Blackbird
Great Tit
Blue Tit
Wren
Magpie
Carrion Crow
Chaffinch
Goldfinch

A lone Oystercatcher at the southern end of the cove.

An adult Herring Gull patrolling the beach.

A Woodpigeon soaks up the afternoon sun.

The past few days it has been Robins singing from every corner of the island.

Today it was the turn of the Wrens.

Well this one was very vocal until I started to video it.

Plants:
Alexanders (Smyrnium olusatrum)
Russian Comfrey (Symphytum x Uplandicum)

Only a few weeks ago the Alexanders, were just coming through. Today they're in flower!!

The Russian Comfrey is really filling up the wood. No flowers yet, but it won't be long I'm sure. It is actually a cross or hybrid of Common Comfrey (Symphytum officinale) and Rough Comfrey (Symphytum asperum)
