Wakeham

It was haircut day for Benji and Ted. So whilst they were being shorn in Weymouth I returned home to do a bit of housekeeping, and the odd trip into the back garden to see what was about.

The main highlight today was seeing a butterfly, with not one but two Peacocks interacting above the garden and then disappearing very quickly in the stiff westerly blowing across the island.

Birds Recorded:
1 Buzzard
Herring Gull
Wood Pigeon
Collared Dove
Dunnock
Great Tit
Magpie
Carrion Crow
Jackdaw
Starling
House Sparrow
2 Linnet
12 Goldfinch

A Common Buzzard soars above Wakeham.

And was soon spotted by one of the local Carrion Crows.

An ever present Dunnock in the back garden. Well they do nest in next doors hedge and it seems I feed them everyday with the seeds dropped from the feeders.

A male Linnet and his......

..........shy partner who preferred to sit on my neighbours garage roof. This pair are daily visitors to the Sunflower Heart Feeders.

Here is the male Linnet again just about hanging on to the Cherry Tree.

The number of Goldfinches on the feeders today reached 12.

That number was bolstered by the addition of a few juveniles, which is always good to see.

I'm still non the wiser as to which amphibian this tadpole will become. My money is on a Toad. We shall see.
