Old Quarry Lane, Wakeham Meadow, Lower Horse Paddock, Broadcroft Quarry Lane, Broadcroft Butterfly Reserve and Higher Horse Paddock

Oh dear, I was really caught out today with what I thought was a female Red-breasted Flycatcher. Having contacted Martin Cade, the warden at the Portland Bird Observatory, it transpired that it was in fact a Common Whitethroat. Really embarrassing, but thank you to Martin for playing it down.

So what were the highlights on yet another very warm day, well I guess it has to be the 11 or so Yellow Wagtails, still "loitering" in both the Lower and Higher Horse Paddocks.

Elsewhere were singles of Blackcap, Common Whitethroat, Chiffchaff, Willow Warbler and Spotted Flycatcher.

Well we didn't get far. Just 100 metres from the house.
