Old Quarry Lane, Wakeham Meadow, Lower Horse Paddock, Broadcroft Quarry Lane and Broadcroft Butterfly Reserve

It was another sunny day with just a slight drop in temperature in that westerly breeze. Main highlights were the Chiffchaff again with at least 8 recorded along my walk, plus 2 Blackcaps.

I also had my first Peacock butterfly for awhile and yesterdays high number of Red Admirals was almost half today.

And just one Ivy Bee seen in Wakeham Meadow

Ted:

I'm failing miserably to get more than 3 Teds at the moment. I think the problem is I'm using a very fast shutter speed. I need to slow it down a bit, so that Ted travels more distance between bursts.

Ships Today

I am absolutely amazed I was able to photograph this Maltese Ro/Ro Passenger Ship "Visby". It has to be the furthest ship I have ever photographed from Portland. It is on its way from Rosslare (Ireland) to Dunkirk (France) and is midway between England and France. Approximately 65 miles out to sea. More on this vessel Here.

This is a navy vessel, but unfortunately its transponder is switched off and I'm unable to tell you what it is.
