Sweethill Farm, Top Fields, Wallsend Cove and Southwell Business Park

It was even warmer today, and so as not to keep Ted out in the sun to long, our walk was bit quicker.

There was plenty of movement with Swallows streaming down Portland's west coastline, but inland there was very little about, with just a few Wheatears, Yellow Wagtails, a couple of Skylarks and a dozen or so Meadow Pipits.

There were very few butterflies about, but it was good to see a few more Ivy Bees today.

A juvenile Wheatear

Talk about posing for the camera. I was only a few metres away from this Raven

And for a split second it blinked and it has a blue eye. In fact it is a third eye-lid and helps protect the eyes and moistens them. It is called a nictitating membrane.
