As I only had an hour to spare this afternoon, I decided to spend it in the horse paddock. And it turned out to be a good hour with some good migrants seen which included 5 Wheatears, 1 Whinchat, 2 Spotted Flycatchers, 2 Willow Warblers, 2 fly-by Yellow Wagtails, 6 Swallows and 2 House Martin.

Alongside the Lower Horse paddock is this treeline.
The treeline is made up of Sycamore and Cyprus trees, much to the liking of 2 Willow Warblers and 2 Spotted Flycatchers
One of the two Willow Warblers in the paddock area.
And both singing as well.

I'm just wondering whether this orange "insect" left over by the Spotted Flycatcher, could..........
..........be the remains of the hoverfly Hornet Plumehorn (Volucella zonaria)

And the second Spotted Flycatcher a little further up the treeline
