Old Quarry Lane, Wakeham Meadow, Lower Horse Paddock, Broadcroft Quarry Lane, Broadcroft Pools and Broadcroft Butterfly Reserve

With such busy days, my walks all seem to be around mid-afternoon. Not that I'm complaining as there is still plenty to see. Today was no exception with 1 Wheatear, 5 Willow Warblers, 1 Spotted Flycatcher and dozens and dozens of hirundines.

A very yellow Willow Warbler

Just the one Spotted Flycatcher in the Lower Horse paddock today.

And it seemed to unsure as to which way it should be looking for its next meal

Gall Wasps Recorded:
Dipoloepis rosaea

A Robin's Pincushion on a Dog Rose. It is a gall caused by the larvae of a tiny gall wasp, Dipoloepis rosaea.

Its that time of the year and the blackberries are looking good.
