Wakeham
I'm sure the weather forecast for today said cloudy and the occasional glimpse of the sun. Well it started off like that, but by midday it was wall to wall blue skies and very warm. So it was back in the garden finishing off the Duck Run and loads of other outstanding jobs, which I'm pleased to say have now been sorted.
So on my travels up and down the back garden I came across one of my favourite butterflies the Small Copper. Other butterflies seen were Red Admirals, Large and Small Whites, Meadow Browns, a Comma and another Painted Lady.
Here are a few images and videos from today.
The male Blue-tailed Damselflies were back again today.
Here is the second male close to the pond.
I love this photo and with excellent light conditions I was able to capture this Honey Bee, using the following camera settings Shutter Speed 1/2000 sec, Aperture f/5 and "Digital Film" Speed ISO 250
Another Honey Bee, but lacking the orange in the abdomen.
This impressive looking wasp is a Gasteruption jaculator
This very large cricket is a Dark Bush-cricket (Pholidoptera griseoaptera)
I have no idea why this 7-Spot Ladybird has a brown patch running along its back.
Is it possibly its wings trapped on the outside of its wing casing. Odd.
This is one of the Rove Beetles. There it was minding its own business when a gust of wind blew it over.
