Wakeham
A humid day and one which saw plenty of cloud cover and the occasional light shower.
Not much today, but I did come across a Slow-worm whilst I was working in the back garden.
Here are a few bits and pieces.
Talking about pests, this butterfly was once known as the Cabbage White and certainly not a favourite with gardeners in the UK. It lays its eggs on brassica type vegetables and the caterpillars make short work of the leaves. Nowadays the Lepidopterists have dropped the "Cabbage" part of its name and it is now known as a Large White. This is a female. More on Large Whites Here.
Another attempt at capturing a Honey Bee in flight.
A Wasp, most likely a Common Wasp, having a drink from the pond.
Also by the pond was this hoverfly called The Footballer.
As I walked by the shed I heard some funny noises, then the board began to move.
It could only be thing. Ted looking for rodents.
