Wakeham Wood, Wakeham Railway Cuttings, Penns Wood, St Andrew's Church, Church Ope Cove, Penns Weare, Penns Copse, Rufus Castle Portland Museum.
Another wet miserable day. There doesn't seem to be any let up as the unsettled weather and though the bird watching was helped by a strong westerly blowing across the island I did manage a few highlights:
Wakeham Wood: 3 Chiffchaff (1 singing) and 3 Goldcrest
Bottom Combe Quarry: 1 Greenfinch
Wakeham Railway Cuttings: 1 Chiffchaff
Church Ope Cove: 4 Rock Pipits, 2 Carrion Crows and 12+ Gannets out to sea
Wakeham (In the back garden): 1 Goldcrest
Also noted was a Red Admiral in Wakeham where there was also a Hornet Mimic Hoverfly.
Here are a few images from a wet miserable morning:
If you ever visit Wakeham Wood your are almost guaranteed a Chiffchaff or.......
..........two. In fact there were 3 here this morning plus 3 Goldcrests. Sadly no Firecrest today.
Off Church Ope Cove were a good dozen or so.................
..........Gannets making their way down the coastline.
