With news out late morning on social media that there were at least 9 Ring Ouzels in the Thumb Lane/Coombefield Quarry Area, I just had to make the effort to see one this Autumn.
Unfortunately I wasn't able to get there until just before 4pm, but as luck would have it there were at least seven in this area here still, with an eighth bird further round towards Coombefield Quarry. In fact there must have been a real "invasion" of them as a further five birds were located in the King Barrow Quarries Nature Reserve.
Other highlights were: 10+ Meadow Pipit, 2 Yellow Wagtail, 1 Stonechat, 1 Redwing, 1 Song Thrush, 5 Blackcap and 10+ Chiffchaff

This Kestrel came into land and very nearly lost its balance.

This is a better perch to stand on. One of the local Buzzards on watch.
