Old Quarry Lane, Wakeham Meadows, Wakeham Wildlife Site, Wakeham Railway Cuttings, Penns Wood, St Andrew's Church, Church Ope Cove, Church Ope Cove Wood, Penn's Weare, Penn's Copse, Rufus Castle, Bumpers Lane, Broadcroft Quarry Lane, Broadcroft Butterfly Reserve, Higher Horse Paddock, Lower Horse Paddock

It was another early start, albeit 30 minutes later than yesterdays walk, and as it was yesterday yet another very sunny day. The one big difference though was the temperature, which was at 8.0°C when I left.

As you would expect first thing in the morning there was plenty of bird movement with many Siskins, Redpolls, Meadow Pipits and Skylarks overhead.

Other birds of interest were:
Rock Pipit - 12 on the beach at Church Ope Cove
Stonechat - 1 male on the butterfly reserve
Blackcap - 1 Wakeham Railway Cuttings
Chiffchaff - 3 Wakeham Wildlife Site, 1 Church Ope Cove Wood and 3 Broadcroft Quarry Lane
Greenfinch - 1 close to Wakeham Meadow.

On the beach at Church Ope Cove were 12 Rock Pipits..........

This Rock Pipit has a metal ring on its right leg and............

...........this one has a metal ring on its left leg. It also has an unusual black and white ring on its right leg!!
