Bumpers Lane, Broadcroft Quarry Lane, Broadcroft Butterfly Reserve and Lower Horse Paddock

Yet again another windy day with gust up to 50 mph on the island. Along with the southwesterly wind were a few thunderstorms, which I managed to avoid, though it was a bit close!!

Not too many highlights with the only birds of note being: 1 Stock Dove, 4 Meadow Pipit, 1 male Stonechat, 2 Ravens and a fly-by Siskin.

In the Lower Horse Paddock were 12 Herring Gulls. This is an adult.......

Wasps and Gall Wasps Recorded:
German Wasp (Vespula germanica)

The German Wasp nest is still active in Bumpers Lane, though the numbers coming and going has dropped considerably.
