Wakeham

A very windy day which saw one of our 9 foot Sunflowers to topple over. Fortunately it didn't snap and is now back in the upright position. However the weather forecast is for gusts up to 60mph over the next couple of days.

In the back garden the adult Wrens continue to feed their hungry youngsters, who appeared to be calling from every bush in the neighbourhood.

A male Common Darter made a brief appearance and 2 Large Whites looked as if they were looking for shelter as a short sharp shower suddenly hit us.

On the Buddleia there was a Common Shield Bug and on the Nasturtiums a few Large White Butterfly caterpillars were having a good munch.

On the Lavender there were 3 types of bee - Red-tailed Bumblebee, White-tailed Bumblebee and Common Carder Bee. No Honey Bees seen.

And what I think this is a Twin-barred Knot-horn (Homoeosoma sinuella) which....

.......I found in the Conservatory.
