With winds speeds from Storm Patricia (A French named Storm) gusting up around 50 mph, the only place to be to see the full force of the gales was Chesil Cove. I was hoping that there might be a Grey Phalarope or Sabine's Gull, but not today as the waves continuously crashed onto the beach.
Apart from the gulls, the only other bird of interest was an Oystercatcher sat on top of the beach in front of Quiddles the cafe Here on the esplanade.
Birds Recorded:
1 Oystercatcher
5 Black-headed Gull
30+ Herring Gull
4 Great Black-backed Gull

An unusual sight on the beach was........
.............this Oystercatcher before it...........
..........headed off to the rocks along the West Weare's.
With so much floating on the surface it was no surprise to see....
................... the Black-headed Gulls patrolling up and down the beach looking for a morsel or two.
And it wasn't just the Black-headed Gulls on patrol, but also Herring Gulls like this adult and...........
..............Great Black-backed Gulls.
Here are a few photos and videos of the waves crashing onto the beach.
The waves crashing onto Chesil Beach today from the French named storm "Patricia"
It was pretty windy
A fender which was a a good 2 metres in length.
I wonder if the other walking boot washed up!!
I had to keep the lead on on Ted to stop him taking off!!!
