With the threat of thunderstorms heading our way, it was probably just as well I was convalescing at home and so eliminating any dash back if I got caught out. Back aches are a real pain!!!
So it was a walk to the end of the garden and back, to stretch my legs and also to see what was about. The first thing I came across was a Hummingbird Hawk-moth on the Valerian. That's two days on the trot now that one has been "buzzing" up and down the garden. However, unlike yesterday's, this individual was a bit too quick for me to photograph.
I have also found out why there has been a few Red Admirals visiting the garden of late. We have Fig tree with fruit, with at least three that gone over. They are so ripe they were covered in Common Green Bottle Flies, Common Wasps and of course Red Admirals which really do enjoy fermenting fruit.
