Greenhill Gardens

Not a place I have been before, but having seen a Black Redstart as I was driving past, I parked up and had a walk around the gardens.

Birds Recorded:
Herring Gull
Wood Pigeon
1 Robin
1 Black Redstart
Carrion Crow

And this female Black Redstart was the reason I parked up to have a look.

In fact it has been a pretty good winter for Black Redstarts, with several on Portland and around Weymouth.

I think I've been "clocked"

General Shots:

Welcome to Award Winning Greenhill Gardens.

Even in Winter the gardens look good......

.........which is probably why the Black Redstart found it to her liking. More on the gardens Here and Here.

Looking south from the gardens towards Stone Pier, Nothe Fort, Portland Harbour and the Isle of Portland.

Ships Today:

This is the Maltese Oil/Chemical Tanker "Monjasa Provider" anchored up in Weymouth Bay. More on this vessel Here.

This is the British Fishing Boat FY759 "Surprise", hauling up a long-line. In this shot it looks like a flatfish is about to come onboard.

It looks a decent size as well. Possibly a Plaice or a Flounder.
