It was another trip to the castle beach, followed by a walk around the jetty's in the marina.
Despite it being very sunny, there were definitely fewer birds on the marina breakwater and in the harbour as well. No doubt the "missing" birds were either fishing further afield, or had found a less windier spot to sit.
Birds Recorded:
15 Cormorant
5 Shag
1 Grey Heron
12+ Red-breasted Merganser
1 Kestrel
5 Oystercatcher
Black-headed Gull
Mediterranean Gull
Herring Gull
Great Black-backed Gull

Carrion Crow
Can you spot the two Shags in amongst the Cormorants. Nope, well they are far right and 3rd from the right.
A "headless" Grey Heron. It must be camera shy!!
These drake Red-breasted Mergansers are......
............quite stunning up close.
Here's another drake with the female on the ledge.
And the same pair with the drake swimming up and down in front of her.
Three Oystercatchers keeping out of that biting north-easterly
And two adult Winter Black-headed Gulls doing the same.
On the outlet pipe an adult Herring Gull preening.
As the sun began to set, so the.........
..........moon was rising in the east.
I'm just a day early from a full moon, which tomorrow will be called the "Cold Moon". Having said that it actually peaks at 4:00am Thursday morning. I shall have to make the effort to photograph it then. More on the "Cold Moon" Here
