A very wet start to the day, which improved by late afternoon with sunny spells but very windy afternoon.
Not a lot in the garden and all I could find were a Common Green Shieldbug, a Dead Head Hoverfly, a White-tailed Bumblebee, few Garden Snails and White-lipped Banded Snails, plus a Sawfly
On the bird front, I sat in the garden for quite sometime watching a pair of Blackbirds bringing back food to their nest in the brambles, at the end of my neighbours garden.
Also about were the resident Robins, Blue Tits and Dunnocks. Behind the garden a Common Whitethroat was singing again.
The male Blackbird arrives at the nest.........
...........with a huge bunch of worms.
And then into the brambles he goes.
30 seconds later he's off for more food.
It wasn't just the male Blackbird bringing in food, but also the female. Here she is arriving.......
............and then after a good 50 seconds or so, enters the nest and............
..............then after another 20 seconds flies off for more food.
Just the one hoverfly today, a Dead Head Hoverfly.
Also about was a Common Green Shieldbug..........
........and a first for the garden, a Sawfly I believe.
I'm probably way off the mark, but if it is a Sawfly, it could possibly an Aglaostigma aucupariae, but I cannot be certain.
And well at least there was a bit of colour in the garden. These Marsh Marigolds have just flowered today.
And of course Ted posing for the camera.
