Wakeham

Quite a few birds passed overhead early this morning including Grey Wagtail, Pied Wagtail and Goldcrest.

In the garden a Giant House-spider, several Large White caterpillars gorging themselves on the Nasturtiums and a Marbled Beauty moth (Bryophila domestica) on the kitchen window.

My first Marbled Beauty moth here on Portland.

Pennsylvania woods, St Andrew's Church grounds and Rufus Castle

A short walk today avoiding the claggy quarry tracks from this morning's rain. Still plenty of Goldcrests and Chiffchaffs in Pennsylvania wood, didn't see or hear any Long-tailed Tits today.

Lots of bees about on the Ivy flowers and on the wall leading away from Rufus Castle 2 baby Wall Lizards, both approx 60mm long.

On Rufus Castle a Kestrel.

A very small Wall Lizard

And another "tasting" the air

You guessed an Ivy Bee

And another.
