I spent the afternoon cleaning the hull on our new fishing boat, but managed 10 minutes on the other side of the bridge to watch the Brent Geese. Well all 2 of them that is, as the main flock took off and headed off towards Abbotsbury.
Other birds by the bridge were 2 Ringed Plover, 3 Oystercatchers, a Cormorant and 6 Great Black-backed Gulls. On the sand further south towards Chesil Beach Centre there were a dozen or more Mediterranean Gulls and 10 more Ringed Plovers.
Two Brent Geese in the foreground.....
....not sure why they didn't join the main flock of 1000+ birds that flew off towards Abbotsbury.
One of 3 Oystercatchers feeding in amongst the sea weed.
Here's number 2....
....and the third bird.
Two Ringed Plovers
Great Black-backed Gulls and if you look carefully a Cormorant bottom centre.
