Wakekam

This afternoon I came across this Rusty Dot Pearl, Udea ferrugalis in the cottage.

A Rusty Dot Pearl

Bumpers Lane, Broadcroft Lane and Penn's Weares

Feeling a lot better today, so I a good walk to blow the cobwebs away. Walked around Bumpers Lane and Broadcroft Lane and then down onto the coast path along Penn's Weare as far as the Grove Cliffs and then back home.

The Autumn migration is in full swing now and there dozens of Meadow Pipits, Pied Wagtails, Swallows and finches all making their way down to The Bill. In amongst the Linnets and Chaffinches were a few Siskins calling. Other birds heard and seen were 3 Grey Wagtails and 2 Yellow Wagtails.

A few Meadow Pipits stopped off en route and were seen bathing in the puddles along Broadcroft Lane. Further up the lane several Chiffchaff, 2 Blackcaps, a Goldcrest and 3 Chaffinches.

Along the coast path towards the Grove Cliffs dozens of Chiffchaff, 3 Blackcaps, Great Tit, Blue Tit and at least 8 Long-tailed Tits working their way south in the Buddleia bushes and Sycamore trees.

Here are few images from this morning:

My walk today along Penn's Weare

Looking south along the coast path towards the "climbers" cliffs.

One of many Meadow Pipits seen this morning

And another

A few bathing in the puddle along Broadcroft Lane

A good wash by the looks of it.

Another bird

Looks in good condition for its journey.

Nice pose.

A manged fox legs it across the lane, a sad sight.

A Chiffchaff has its eyes on me.

Quite intense stare.

Along the East Weares a party of Long-tailed Tits.

There were at least 8.

Another bird on a stem makes....

.......an alarm call......

.........and a Chiffchaff passes by at speed...

......before alighting on the next branch.

A Robin looks on!

One of a few Red Admirals making the most of the Autumn sun.

Here's another.

As long as they are still about I will keep photographing these lovely bees.

Here another Ivy Bee comes into land.....

......on its favourite foodplant the Ivy.

An angler trying his luck on the rocks.

The sun over the channel.

The Man o'War to the east of Durdle Door. I think!
