A very quiet evening at the back of the cottage with the main highlight being the high numbers of Red Admirals still feeding on the ivy flowers. Also of note were the dozens of Swallows making their way down towards The Bill and the small numbers of Chiffchaff & Willow Warblers feeding in the Sycamore trees and Buddleia Bushes.

The Coastguard Helicopter was.....
........very busy over the west cliffs.
Eventually it landed. Not sure what was happening but there were also 4 Police Transit Vans and a Coastguard 4x4. It all happens here on Portland.

Birds Recorded were: 1 Cormorant, 1 Kestrel, Herring Gull, Wood Pigeon, 50+ Swallow, Dunnock, Robin, Blackbird, 4 Chiffchaff, 2 Willow Warbler, Great Tit, Wren, Magpie, Carrion Crow, 1 Raven, House Sparrow, Chaffinch, Linnet, Goldfinch and Greenfinch.
Butterflies recorded: 25+ Red Admirals, 1 Large White, 1 Painted Lady
Also 1 Fox
