Wakeham

Portland was very wet and very noisy, as lightening strike after lightening strike echoed all around the island, especially this afternoon.

The lightening moving north onto the mainland at 2:12pm.

So with the weather still wet and miserable, here are a few highlights from this day since 2017.........

A Hairy Shieldbug (Dolycoris baccarum)

A Nuthatch at Strouden Park Nature Reserve, Bournemouth.

An Ichneumon Wasp (Scolobates auriculatus)

A Wheatear at King Barrow Quarry.

A Western Conifer Seed Bug (Leptoglossus occidentalis) on the windscreen of Star out in Portland Harbour.

Hummingbird Hawk-moth (Macroglossum stellatarum)

Hornet Plumehorn (Volucella zonaria)
